at 29 degrees, today has been cooler than yesterday.

that makes me happy!

on my usual route to home, i passed by the second-hand shop and they had a cart outside full of pre-loved books. of course, i had to stop by and see if they have English books. there were a couple of them. i chose the one by Jenny Colgan's "Little Beach Street Bakery".

i took it in to pay for it. the lady told me that those books outside are for free. wow!!! books for free! i was so amazed and my heart was so happy that i was already reading the first few pages while walking back home 😁

just a few weeks ago, i was wishing for summer.

after coming home from work yesterday, i was supposed to plant my zucchini's outside and edit some videos. but you know what? i took a nap and when i woke up, i wasted my time looking for stuffs that i don't need on an online flea market 😭😩😫

the zucchini seedlings that i replanted outside about 2 weeks ago aren't growing well. the ones that i didn't have time to replant are still by the living room window and are getting pretty tall already.

sigh!

i don't have the motivation to plant them outside. yet.

sigh!

i might go to the cinema to watch a movie tonight. that's my plan when i get out of work at 8pm.

last weekend, we spent time at the harbor to clean Vaski. when Juhannus is getting closer, i feel stressed. my first Juhannus here wasn't really worth remembering. but that memory keeps coming back to me everytime midsummer is coming. i just want to sleep and wake up when midsummer is over. 

days 112 and 113 of 365 | the life of Joanna Marie

two gulls tried to attack me this morning. i was just walking my usual route to work at 5 am. two gulls started making angry sounds as i was approaching the lamp post where they were sitting on. i tried to ignore them and just kept on walking.

but then they started to fly really low and down straight to my direction. i got really scared. i covered my head with my canvas bag (as if, it helps 😁). they were still obviously trying to scare me away. at that point, i got super scared and ran the other way. they were still flying over me for a while. when i got to the small tunnel, they disappeared. thank goodness!

i didn't mind walking an extra big round to get to my workplace just to get away from those birds. 

gulls are also scaring the other girls at work. everytime that someone throws the garbage, they come back running with the rubbish that they're supposed to throw away. it's because the gulls are trying to attack them, too! 

our boss said that they don't attack people with black hair. well, her theory has just been proven wrong 😅

i was helping daddy in cleaning the tree branches that they cut in one of their projects. a whole day spent in picking up branches. loading them to the trailer and lifting them again to the dumping area.

my whole body is aching. i need another massage...

at the end of the day, i was grumpy because...who wouldn't?

days 109 and 110 | the life of Joanna Marie

i cut my bangs last weekend because i wanted to have korean bangs. i watched the youtube tutorial and it seemed easy. so, i was watching the video while trimming my hair. it didn't end up as i wanted it to be, no matter how i tried to cut more here and there. it looked worse. i still went to work last sunday with my new bangs but i just tried to tame it. i even bought curlers yesterday to keep it soft curled. 

after sauna, i curled my bangs and i went to sleep with the curlers on. when i took it off this morning, my bangs is just indescribable 😁

during my break at work, i called to my hairdresser if she has time to fix my hair today. luckily, she did! so i went to her salon after work. when she saw my bangs, she didn't say anything, but her face said it all 😅 and she really fixed my hair. i feel so relieved now. she also cut about 2 inches from my hair. so my old curls are gone. there might be some left but i will deal with it later 😃

as i'm editing this video, i craved for poffertjes. so i searched for the recipe online. the problem is, i don't have the pan for poffertjes. so i will just use a normal frying pan. okay, so basically, i will be making a normal pancake 😁😁😁

my day-off fell on a sunny monday! yahoo! i hope i'll have time to replant my carrots today. they are overgrowing in the small container where i sowed the seeds.

for the first time, we had vegan breakfast buffet at the cafe yesterday. we didn't expect a lot of people because we will be serving different food from what we normally offer. but we were surprised by the number of customers who came. we were so busy and one customer surprised us by coming in to the kitchen and offering to wash the dishes. Somi and i didn't know what to say. but she said that she's a professional kitchen worker and she wants to help us. ohhhh...that was really nice of her. she really helped us a lot! i forgot her name but i will always remember her.

i finally booked a time for massage. i was luckily to get an hour booking today. ahhh...i'm already looking forward to it 😇

the dandelions are out! i'm so happy to see yellow flowers along the way to work. they are like sunshine to me. 

it has been raining for a few days now, though. and yesterday, i stayed home all day. i talked to my sister on the phone and she suggested a new k-drama series to me. well, it's actually a comedy. i watched it right away and my tummy ached for laughing so much! sigh! Koreans are really good in bringing out whatever emotions from their audience 😀

i wore rubber boots to work today. it was raining early in the morning. and when i was leaving from work, the sun was shining. good thing, i have a pair of extra sneakers at work. it would be funny to walk in the sunshine in my rubber boots 🙈

i was editing this video in bed. Amanda is sleeping noisily beside me. she's snores so loud! i hope i'll have a good night's sleep.

i'm feeling ever so tired. the midshift was quite busy today. well, it was a market day, that's understandable. there were a lot of people drinking their coffee at the yard even though it was quite chilly.

the sun was shining when i was walking back home. i carried a bag of cardboards. hehehe. i'm collecting cardboards from the cafe to cover the backyard but i haven't started planting out my seedlings yet. i'm afraid that they might catch cold since it's been raining a lot lately.
