i used to sing "rainy days and mondays always get me down" (carpenters)
i also used "because rainy days and fridays always get me down" as a reason on my leave of absence slip once. the hr didn't approve of it, of course. but hey, i only tell the truth once in a blue moon and the hr should have been flattered with my candid honesty.
i love seeing movies with "rainy" scenes: the notebook (thunder and lightning), the road to perdition (soaked), teaching mrs. tingle, memoirs of a geisha, sweet home alabama, spiderman (mary jane!), pride and prejudice (i love you, mr.darcy) and my favorite rainy movie for all times and beyond, john lloyd and sarah's "a very special love"!
i used to love bathing under the rain, running around with my childhood friends and eating ice cream while running through the streets of mandaue city with nang rose and chandra in a bashing rainy day.
i had a tremendously shameful tantrum attack in denmark because of the rain.
i love to listen to the sound of the rain on the roof. it is so wonderful.
i hate to bring an umbrella when it rains. umbrellas are heavy, i'd rather be soaked.
i had to meet this one guy once at the airport. and i bothered to do my hair and make-up only to show up almost an hour late and soaking wet. oh, i love the rain! the guy was not worth the bother, as it turned out. tsk! tsk!
in elementary and high school, we had the flag ceremony in our classroom when it was raining. which is so much better for me rather than the fall-in-line-find-your-height-arms-forward thing.
once, i was so stupid to wear a strappy-heely sandals under the rain. the heels broke and i had to walk on bare feet to the office.
when i wake up in a rainy morning, i love to stay in bed as long as possible.
when woody allen said "i love the rain. it washes memories off the sidewalk of your life" i fell in love with him.
