remembering NBA '96 finals

aye came over to our house right in the middle of the nba finals that early monsoon season of '96. i was stuck in front of the television cheering for chicago bulls! he wanted to talk, i guess...i'm no longer sure. anyways, i remember that i didn't really talk to him that time because, for heaven's sake, it's the nba finals! he left and i went back to jumping and screaming for joy when the bulls defeated the supersonics.

days, weeks and months passed. the taste of victory for the nba finals went bland. i didn't hear anything from aye. that's when i realized, i have chosen michael jordan over him.

17 years have passed. 

my high school batchmates called on for a meeting last saturday, for an activity this december. we were talking over lunch and then a man just pulled out a chair and sat across me. aye. i was surprised. memory rush came after that. and i was settled again.

my classmates and i spent the whole afternoon planning and organizing for the event, with constant talks about our high school memories, of course. 

it was fun talking to people who have known me since i was 13. i realized how much they have grown as persons, as moms and dads. i realized, i haven't changed at all. 

for aye, i haven't said sorry for ignoring him on that day of the nba finals in '96. but i'm sure, he has forgiven me for that already.

it's always a struggle to get back to reality on mondays. i feel like the weekend have taken me into another dimension where everything is totally different from my normal routine.

i need to re-channel my mind as early as now. or maybe, i just need more time to sleep? or maybe, it's the rain...i can't stop the rain, i love the rain...it makes me feel like it's still the weekend.

ah! it's monday, joan! it's monday!
