reunited with love actually

i have been here in stryn for a month and 16 days. i haven't unpacked all my things yet. i just love the thrill of finding something everytime i open my suitcase. and today's delightful surprise: LOVE ACTUALLY!

i swear (delcorazon, i swear mamatay man ang mga lugay sa tyan ni felix) i didn't expect to find the dvd in my suitcase. i had to blink for several times just to double check if i'm really seeing what i'm seeing. and it was for real! no hallucinations!

it felt so good to see the movie again. imagine, i used to see it every night. surprisingly and not so surprisingly, i still found myself in a familiar emotional ground. crying at the scene where mark surprised his bestfriend and keira on their wedding with the song "all you need is love"; dancing with hugh grant in the "i'll take you down, i'll take you down" scene; singing my lungs out with joanna on her "all i want for christmas" part; loving liam neeson for everything that he was in the film and wishing that someone would knock on my door on christmas day with Mark's revelation-of-love-through-placard-thing.

the characters in the movie had been my (and mabeth's...thank you for the loan delcorazon) companions all throughout the gloomy and boring winter days in dk. and i am so happy (and guilty) to have the dvd with me...although i was supposed to hand it back to delcorazon before i left dk.

anyway, i am so convinced that surprises, like love, are actually all around.
